BASIC INFORMATION
The Medical Faculty in Skopje organizes:

UNDERGRADUATE STUDIES
The area in which undergraduate students are educated at the Medical faculty is biomedicine, medicine (basic, clinical and public health sciences) and health care.
The duration of the undergraduate studies in medicine is 12 semesters (6 years), and the professional studies 6 semesters (3 years).
The education of medical studies covers five sets of subjects. These are general education subjects, subjects in the natural sciences, basic medical sciences, clinical subjects and public health subjects (read more in the manual “Student Informator”.)
The education of vocational studies (nurses / technicians, radiologists, speech therapists, audiometric technicians and physiotherapists) covers three sets of subjects. These are social objects, basic subjects and professional subjects (read more in the “Student Newsletter” manual.)
Upon completing the undergraduate studies in medicine, he obtains a professional title: doctor of medicine – medical doctor, MD. Upon completion of the undergraduate studies in medicine, a trainee period of 6 months is required, after which the exam for obtaining a basic license is taken (see more on this on the site of the Chamber of Physicians of Macedonia).
After successfully mastering the study program and defending the diploma work, the students of the nursing and technical studies receive a title: a graduated nurse (for women), a DMS – a graduate nurse and a certified medical technician (for men), DMT – graduate medical technician.
After successfully mastering the study program and defending the diploma work, students gain the title: graduated radiologist (radiographer) = graduate radiologic technologist (radiographer).
After successfully mastering the study program and defending the diploma work, students gain the title: graduated speech and language therapist.

Graduated students from vocational studies practice their activity autonomously after gaining an undergraduate degree and pass the professional exam.
MASTER STUDIES
The Faculty conducts postgraduate professional studies for a period of 1 year, postgraduate master’s studies in duration of 2 years and postgraduate doctoral studies lasting 3 years, and also implements the procedure for acquiring the title of doctor of science outside the doctoral studies.
Postgraduate vocational and master’s studies can be completed by a person who has completed appropriate undergraduate studies for at least 3 years.
Postgraduate doctoral studies can be enrolled by a person who has completed appropriate undergraduate studies for at least 3 years and completed master studies for a period of 2 years.
Teaching within the framework of continuous medical education Continuing medical education means all forms of postgraduate education that are organized at the Medical faculty regardless of the regular postgraduate studies. The participants can be doctors of medicine, healthcare workers and persons from other profiles who perform activities in the field of health care.
